Nidich, S. I.; Nidich, R.; Abrams, A.; Orme-Johnson, D.; and Wallace, R. K. Frontal lobe functioning: EEG coherence as a predictor of highly pro-social behavior in subjects practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Program. Departments of Education, Psychology, and Biology, Maharishi International University, Fairfield, Iowa, USA, 1982.

Higher levels of bilateral frontal EEG coherence were found to be predictive of highly pro-social behavior in students practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program. This study, taken together with earlier research showing a close relationship between high levels of frontal EEG coherence and the experience of pure consciousness during the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program, indicates that this experience is a key factor in promoting more ideal social behavior.
