Jevning, R.; and Wilson, A. E. Altered red cell metabolism in TM. Psychophysiology 14: 94 (abstract), 1977.
Blood samples taken during the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique showed a 30 per cent reduction in lactate generation when incubated in vitro as compared to samples taken before the practice. No change was found in samples taken from a control group during ordinary relaxation.
