After reaching one percent of the population instructed in the Transcendental Meditation program, the economies of New Zealand and Norway showed increased international economic competitiveness in 1993 on a multivariate index, and stable growth of balanced economic health over the next four years, as measured by high growth, low unemployment, and low inflation. A separate study found reduction of crime in Merseyside, U.K., when a large group of TM-Sidhi program experts was established.
