Banquet, 1973
Banquet, J. P. Spectral analysis of the EEG in meditation. Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology 35: 143–151, 1973.
Subjects practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique showed distinctive EEG changes, including slow, high-amplitude alpha activity extending to anterior channels; theta activity different from sleep; rhythmic amplitude-modulated beta waves present over the whole scalp; and synchronization of anterior and posterior channels.
